Photopia @ Orchard Central: Self-photo Studio Review
Hey friends! I recently visited a self-photo studio at Orchard Central called Photopia, and it's this really cool place where you can take your own aesthetic, professional for just S$30! I thought the concept was really cool because you can come here to take cute couple photos, family portraits, or even graduation pictures. For me, the major selling point is that you can take all the pictures in a private setting, so you don't have to feel paiseh about strangers peeking at you or judging you while you werk that vogue pose.

You'll have to book a slot in advance and come down to their outlet at Orchard Central on the allocated day. The staff will then ask you to register your details, and then you will be ushered into this photo studio.
There are three different backgrounds you can choose from - Black & White, Colourful, or the Magazine room (which will be coming soon). We chose the Black & White background.
Inside the photo studio, you'll see a big timer, as well as a camera and photography equipment. The studio we were in had two stools for us to sit on while taking the pictures. You will also be handed a small buzzer that you can press to activate the camera and take the picture.
You get 15 minutes to take as many pictures as you want, and boy did we have a blast!
After the photo session, we got another 15 minutes to select the pictures to be printed out - one main image, and four other images for a collage. If you'd like, you can have all the images sent to you digitally for an additional S$20 as well!
You can also add a little quote to be written on the photo collage.
We were asked to come back in about 20 minutes to collect the images. The pictures were so pretty and I loved how it really had a professional feel. The quality of the images was great as well, and they probably did some post-editing to the pictures because my skin looked flawless!
I really recommend trying out Photopia if you love taking pictures or want to go on a photoshoot but don't have a professional to do it for you. I also think it's really worth topping up the S$20 to get all the photos sent to you. Perhaps one tip would be to bring along some props if you tend to be awkward in front of the camera, as it will definitely help with coming up with some poses.
