Hey, Faithfuls! If you've ever wandered through Funan Mall, chances are you've stumbled upon Climb Central, a popular climbing spot for climbers of all ages and skill levels. With four outlets scattered across Singapore, including in Kallang, Novena, and Katong, Climb Central is your ticket to reaching new heights, quite literally!

Climb Central specialises in high walls, those towering structures that span over two levels and require a trusty harness. From Top Rope to Auto Belay, Boulder to Lead walls, there's a wall for every thrill-seeker, each boasting its unique challenges.

Recently, I decided to treat my dad to a climbing adventure at Climb Central, Funan Mall. As a beginner, he was eager to tackle the heights and test his mettle! I got him a Set A day pass priced at S$37.80 per person, which allows climbers to access their climbing park anytime they are open. Their opening hours on weekdays are from 11am to 11pm, while they're open on weekends from 9am to 9pm.

Before making payment for the day pass, you'll have to register yourself. Do ensure your details match your NRIC to avoid any redo hassles! Once registered, you'll have to wait for the briefing session. We had to wait over 30 minutes for our turn, and I was a little disappointed due to the lack of updates from the staff. Then again, I understood that they were pretty swamped that day.

Once the briefing commenced, my dad and fellow climbers were briefed about harness donning and belaying techniques for about 10-20 minutes before the actual climb.

The fun began once they actually started climbing! At 60 years young, my dad is considered pretty fit, but he did struggle at first, especially with his grip. After 30 minutes, he got used to the feeling of climbing and the fear of heights, and eventually made it to the top!

My dad climbed for about 2.5 hours before he started getting a little tired. He really enjoyed himself, and it even made me consider trying Climb Central for myself in the future! Whether you're a seasoned climber or a newbie seeking thrills, Climb Central is quite a good place for families and friends, regardless of climbing experience, to experience the joys of rock climbing. You may see me up there next time!

Thanks for reading, and see you next post!
