Hey, Faithfuls! I was recently killing time in Serangoon and chanced upon this new-ish cafe called Oddity CafeTaking over the spot where Amber Ember once stood, this cafe offers a rustic, minimalist vibe with wooden accents and quirky art pieces—including a whimsical take on the Mona Lisa holding a coffee cup.

Pet lovers, you'll be happy to hear that the cafe is pet-friendly and even has Pawpsicles (S$2.50) to keep your furry companions refreshed. The cafe is also work-friendly with charging ports so you can get some work done

Oddity Cafe’s brunch menu runs until 5pm daily, which makes it good for those who cannot wake up early for brunch. The menu is a fusion of comfort classics and inventive dishes, such as the Bulgogi Bennie (S$10) and Arigatoast (S$18). The latter is a delightful combination of smashed avocado, eggs, cherry tomatoes, furikake, and Togarashi spice on buttered sourdough.

I opted for their seasonal Rosy Chix Truffle Pasta, a festive special available until mid-January. While I can’t recall the exact price, it was under $25 and worth every cent. The creamy truffle sauce paired beautifully with tender chicken and subtle rosy notes.

If you’re in the area for dessert, Oddity Cafe also houses OddBalls Ice Cream, offering artisanal flavours made in-store.

On the drinks side, I tried the Orange Americano (S$7), which was refreshing but leaned on the sweeter side—reminding me of Luckin Coffee, though pricier and smaller in size.

I also had the Iced White (S$6), which had a creamy, mild profile. While I usually prefer my coffee on the bolder side, this would appeal to fans of smoother, milkier blends.

Oddity Cafe might not be the most convenient location to reach, but its laid-back charm makes it a worthwhile destination, especially if you’re looking for a spot off the beaten path. I'll probably be back again!
