My boyfriend is a big fan of Star Wars, so we decided to go visit Star Wars Identities: The Exhibition at the Singapore ArtScience Museum yesterday. Here, Star Warns fans can get up close and personal with over 200 artifacts consisting of real costumes, props, and concept sketches used in the movies.

Tickets for this interactive Star Wars exhibition cost S$25 for Singapore residents and S$21.40 for Sands Rewards members! Admission times are every 15 minutes from 10am, and most people typically spend about 90 minutes here.

We booked the 11am slot thinking there were going to be fewer people, but there was still quite a bit of a crowd especially around 11.30am. It's highly recommended to go earlier if you want to beat the crowd of squealing, shouting kids.

Here's what you can expect when you visit Star Wars Identities: The Exhibition!

1. Interactive checkpoints

You will be given a wristband and you can scan it at different interactive checkpoints which allow you to learn about your true Star Wars identity. It sounds like a bunch of fluff, but honestly, it was quite fun to do! At the different checkpoints, you can choose what Star Wars species you want to be, the natural abilities you have, what planet your home is, your upbringing and culture, and lastly - whether you want to stand on the light or dark side.

2. Costume displays

What's really cool about this Star Wars exhibition is that you get to see the original costumes of Boba Fett and Stormtrooper on full display, among others such as the gowns worn by Natalie Portman's Queen Naboo, and Princess Leia's 'Gold Bikini' worn by the one and only Carrie Fisher.

There are also costumes of the Jedis such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Chewbacca in their full glory.

3. Prop model and puppets

In this exhibition, you can also see original models and puppets used in the movies, such as this one of Jedi Master Yoda!

4. Spaceships in hyperspace

One of my favorite parts of this exhibition was the stunning spaceship display. Even if you aren't a Star Warns fan, this display was hard to keep your eyes off with the mesmerizing lights.

In the same area, we also got to see models of The Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighter, and TIE Interceptor.

5. Original concept art

There's a lot of work that goes into making the movies and before your beloved characters came to be, they were all sketched onto paper. You can also read about how the characters were conceptualized and learn crazy fun facts, like how Luke Skywalker was almost a female, or how Yoda was supposed to look like a normal human Santa Claus!

6. Han Solo in Carbonite

One of the most iconic scenes in Star Wars is the one of Han Solo in carbonite. This is also a life-size sculpture made after the real Han Solo actor Harrison Ford!

7. Star Wars identity revelation

In the end, you'll finally get to see your true Star Wars identity! What you see in this reveal depends on the choices you made at the interactive checkpoints, and whether you chose to join the light or dark side. Above is a picture of my boyfriend rejecting the offer to join the dark side!

Besides taking a picture of the reveal, you can also have it emailed to yourself using the nearby machines.

8. Star Wars merchandise

Once you're done with the exhibition, you can head on to the gift store and check out the array of Star Wars merchandise such as shirts, posters, and models. Some of the items are on sale too!
