toni-and-guy-review

Hey friends! I got the chance to get my hair done at Toni & Guy Mandarin Orchard last week! I went there for some highlights and a fresh new cut. My appointment was at 11am on a Saturday, and since I was there early there were not a lot of people. I met with my hairstylist Tomo and he asked me what colours I was okay with, as well as the length of my haircut. We both agreed that the colour Ash Blue would suit my skin tone the best and that a layered cut would make my highlights pop!

My hair looked rather patchy as I had old highlights, some box dye residue, and my original hair growing out. Here's a picture of how it looked before:

Tomo dyed the patchy parts of my hair to my original hair colour and then proceeded to bleach my hair for the highlights. This process took about two hours to do and of course, I nodded off!

After two hours, I had my hair washed and it was time to get the Ash Blue dye on. This took about another hour or so, and then after that, my hair was washed again. Once my hair was dried, I could finally see the subtle blue highlights! They were rather dark, but I was told that after a few weeks the dye would slowly fade to a beautiful ash colour.

Lastly, it was time for the cut! It has been ages since I had my hair in layers as I usually prefer a level cut, but I trusted Tomos's advice. Finally, my hair was styled, and I have to say I really like how I look!

It's my first time having blue hair, and it does give off a gothic look! I also like how the colours aren't too loud - not so striking that it makes my eyes sore, but just enough to make heads turn. Most importantly, my highlights look great in pictures and under the sun!

I really appreciate the service I received at Toni & Guy Mandarin Orchard, and I'm also thankful to Tomo for being so detailed and patient. My hair makeover was a tedious and super long process, so it was really nice to have a hairstylist who took his time to make sure everything was perfect.

Currently, Toni & Guy is running a promo for highlights and colour treatment at S$169 (UP S$231), and you can top up S$49 for a Top Stylist Haircut (UP S$97)! If you're in need of a new makeover, Toni & Guy is worth a try.

Thanks for reading and see you next post!
