Fangko Coffee Review: Affordable Indonesian Food
The cafe is super unassuming and it's located in the same building as ibis budget Singapore Clarke Quay. Inside, the ambience is really cosy, great for people who wanna have a cuppa away from the busy Clarke Quay main area.
The cafe's menu features modern Indonesian cuisine, including dishes like Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah (S$14), Indomie Fries Chimken (S$15), and Kampong Fried Rice (S$12.50). My lunch experience here was nothing short of delightful. My personal favourites include their Wet Indomie (S$7) and Nasi Lemak Ayam Berempah. Be warned, their spice levels can reach up to 20!
The Wet Indomie impressed me with its robust flavours, and I particularly appreciated its moist texture, which made mixing a breeze. The addition of the jiggly egg lent a creamy richness to the dish that I really loved.
Moving on to the Nasi Ayam Berempah, the fragrant blue rice and flavourful sambal stole the show. The coconut aroma wafting from the rice was simply irresistible, and the spice level (I chose level 2) was just right for a satisfying kick without overwhelming the taste buds.
I also liked how the fried chicken had a super crispy skin, even though I wish the chicken meat could have been more tender.
To complement your meal, Fangko Coffee offers an array of beverages affordably priced from S$6, including Fangko Melaka, Fangko Jamaica Rhum, and Avocado Coffee. I went for their signature coffee and lychee soda thingy, and both were pretty good.
