Kroffle Buffet @ Walking On Sunshine Food Review
The Kroffle Buffet (S$14.90++) runs from 9am-11am at Walking On Sunshine, Orchard Central. I remember their cafe is quite popular, so I went down on a weekday around 9.15am. When we were there, there were already two more couples seated and a slow but steady stream of customers coming in. Unfortunately Walking On Sunshine does not take reservations, so be sure to come early if you want to try the buffet!
Walking On Sunshine is a really pretty cafe slash salon, and it looks just like a garden. I've never seen a cafe with so many plants - there are plants hanging from the ceiling, on the table, in pots on the floor, on the walls... just everywhere!

The Kroffle Buffet gives you the option to choose from eight different kroffles in a mix of sweet and savory flavors. While it's free flow, you will only be served two at a time per person to prevent wastage.
In the first round, we ordered the Bacon-mash Potato, Corn-cheese, Garlic-cream Cheese, and Lime-avocado.
Let's talk about the texture of the kroffles first! They were all really soft with a light crunch, which was good because I had my braces tightened a few days before and was having trouble eating anything harder than a piece of bread. The texture also leaned more towards waffles rather than a croissant.
The Bacon-mash Potato tastes like what it sounds like - it's basically bacon with mash potato. Eating this feels like you're eating a hot dog. The potato portion is quite generous and the bacon is so-so. While this kroffle was not the most memorable one, it was not terrible.
The Lime-avocado was another average kroffle and the lime trumped most of the avocado flavour. The flavours here were also really, really subtle which made this kroffle a good one to start the buffet off with!
The Garlic-cream Cheese kroffle was very good! It was mildly creamy, and the fried garlic packed a punch of flavors though they could be quite hard.
Our favourite kroffle hands down was the Corn-cheese because it was super creamy, extremely savoury and easy to eat. Taste-wise it was also the most distinct.
In the second round, we got the Honey-mustard Cream Cheese and Chocolate kroffle. The Honey-mustard Cream Cheese was rather disappointing and I couldn't taste much except for the sour flavor from the toppings on it. The Chocolate kroffle was good and you can't go wrong with chocolate anyway! It was sweet but not in a sickening kind of way, and the texture of the chocolate syrup was smooth and not sticky. My only comment is that the syrup could have been more!

We missed out on two flavors which were the Cinnamon and Mix-berry kroffle because we were already full halfway into our second round. Don't be surprised because the kroffles may look small but they are extremely filling.
I think the Kroffle Buffet is really worth it because the kroffles are great, there are so many options, and you really get to eat your fill! Bring along your friends and family and I'm sure you all will have a great time just like I did.
