Menbaka Ramen @ Cineleisure: Kyoto Ramen Food Review
Menbaka Fire Ramen: Level 5, Cineleisure |
The place actually looks pretty cool with the neon lights and travel photos on the wall. We were told to place our order via their app before entering the restaurant and after doing so we had to make payment via the app. We were ushered to our seats after that, and waited for our ramen fire show!

The Menbaka Fire Ramen fire show is not done at your table, and you have to go up to the seats beside the kitchen counter. This is for your safety of course because the fire is really hot and oil may spill during the show. You're also not allowed to take your own pictures during the fire show, but don't worry - the staff will actually place your phone on an inverted selfie stick and record the whole process for you! All you need to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy the fire show.

The fire show was really epic, and the flames were so big and hot! Not gonna lie - I was actually quite scared that I would get hurt or burnt by the oil, but nothing of that sort happened in the end. You could actually feel how hot the flames were as well, so thankfully the show only lasted a few seconds.
After that, we went back to our tables and the staff helped us to bring our ramen back since the bowls were quite hot. I had the Menbaka Original - 226 Years Shoyu Recipe Fire Ramen (S$17.90) and my boyfriend had the Kara Miso Fire Ramen (S$24.90) and topped up extra Chashu and noodles.
The Menbaka Original - 226 Years Shoyu Recipe Fire Ramen is made from a 220-year old blend of Shoyu that's imported from Japan. I really loved the broth as it was super umami and had a rather milky texture. The noodles were also on the chewier side, and although the dish looked quite oily in pictures, it did not feel oily at all.

The Kara Miso Fire Ramen was really good as well, where it was spicy enough to mildly 'burn' the tongue, but still making the noodles easy to eat. According to my boyfriend, the taste of the soup was also very intense but not jelak, and he rated it an 8/10! One tip from him is that if you're ordering extra noodles, do remember to add them immediately to the broth because putting them in later would cool the broth.

We also ordered the Chashu Croquette (S$5.90) and Ice Ocha ($S2.40) which is refillable. The Chashu Croquette came in three pieces but was very filling!

We had a very enjoyable experience at Menbaka Fire Ramen, and although the food was good, I have to say it was a little pricey though I can still understand after taking the portion and showmanship into consideration. Easily one of the best ramen I've tasted in Singapore, and I hope you'll enjoy it too!
Thanks for reading, and see you next post.
