Hey friends! It's been a while since I blogged so I'm really excited to share this cafe with you. I also bought a new camera, so I've been on the hunt for aesthetic eateries in order to add new pictures to my Instagram feed. One place I changed upon was The Great Mischief, and if you haven't heard of it before, it's actually a restaurant located inside the National Gallery!

My boyfriend and I made a reservation via The Great Mischief's website about a month in advance, and requested seats on the couch. There are not a lot of pictures of The Great Mischief on Google so I was really curious about how the place would look like.

The Great Mischief looks exactly like how I'd want my future house to look like. It was decked in pastel colours like baby pink and baby blue, and had these gorgeous booths by the window that transported you into a Wes Anderson film. Look how beautiful!

As we were very hungry, we did not waste any time ordering our food. The food came really quickly too!

For myself, I got the Tocino Pasta (S$16) which had chorizo, egg, cream, and manchego cheese. I really liked the cream sauce and the shredded cheese which blended perfectly, and the chorizo had a mildly salty and smoky flavour. The pasta was on the harder side and I thought that the portion could have been a little larger.

My boyfriend had the Sardinia Pasta (S$18) with anchovy, garlic, sundried tomato, chilli, and spaghetti. Similar to my Tocino Pasta, the Sardinia Pasta had a generous amount of cream. It had quite a unique taste, and the tomatoes and olives gave the pasta a tangy, sour taste. The spaghetti was also on the tougher side.

We also ordered the Patatas Bravas (S$9) with potatoes, spicy tomato sauce, sunny-side up, and garlic aioli. I actually liked this more than the pasta! The potato skins were extremely crispy, and I really liked the spicy tomato sauce which reminded me almost of chilli crab sauce. The gooey sunny-side up did a good job in neutralising the sour, spicy flavours.

As it was a hot day, I got myself a Cold Brew Tea (S$7) with rosemary-infused back tea and lemon. It was super refreshing and came in a giant glass! It was also great for cleansing our palate.

My boyfriend is a sucker for coffee, so he ordered the Cold Brew Coffee (White) (S$7). The first taste of the coffee was pretty meh, but as you drink, it got better. My boyfriend complained that the size of the coffee was a little small, so he ended up drinking my tea instead.

So what do I think of The Great Mischief, overall? It is a very pretty place with decent food and decent prices. To be honest, I had high hopes for the food so it was a bit of a letdown, but the overall experience was still enjoyable because the drinks and tapas were good! It's also a great place to come chill and take lots of nice pictures. In case you're wondering, the food here is also halal.

I can see myself coming back again for sure, maybe not with my boyfriend but with my girlfriends!

Thanks for reading and see you next post.
