Hey, Faithfuls! Have you ever passed by a cafe so many times, each time secretly vowing to try it someday? That's exactly how I felt about Nico Cafe whenever I walked past their Katong outlet. Well, guess what? The stars aligned, and I finally got the chance to savour their delectable offerings. Nico Cafe recently unveiled a brand new outlet at Wheelock Place, and I headed down to try their yummy pancakes.

Finding the cafe took a little bit of work because I'm not familiar with Wheelock Place. I found it right outside The Zall Bookstore, and while the cafe is much smaller than I expected, it's undeniably charming. The aesthetics alone make it a picture-perfect spot for your next brunch.

The cafe has charging ports too, so you can charge your phone while you enjoy your meal.

Now, let's talk pancakes, the star of the show. The Mixed Berries pancake (S$21.90) is a delightful masterpiece. These pancakes are like clouds on a plate, so soft and fluffy that the girls at the neighbouring table thought they were undercooked! Trust me, that's exactly how soufflé pancakes are supposed to be.

If cheesecake is your jam, Nico Cafe's Basque Burnt Cheesecake (S$10.90) is a must-try. Picture this: an irresistibly cheesy, velvety slice that's soft and easy to slice through. It's a cheesecake lover's dream come true. Now, let's not forget about their Open Face Toast selection. We had the Croque Monsieur (S$11.90), which was layered with ham and cheese, and crowned with a gooey sunny-side-up egg.

As for drinks, we ordered the Dirty Coconut Coffee (S$8.90) and Yuzu Rose (S$8.90). The Coconut Coffee was mild and easy on the palate, adorned with coconut flakes on the rim. Yuzu Rose, served in a charming bottle and an aesthetic-looking glass, was another perfect refreshment to wash down all the super gao flavours.

I really like that Nico Cafe keeps its prices wallet-friendly. For cafe food, the prices are relatively affordable, and the portions are generous. Coffee can lean towards the pricier side due to its smaller size, so I recommend their non-coffee beverages instead.

That's all for today's review, thank you and see you next post!
