R10T Review: Spin Classes For Beginners @ Tanjong Pagar

Hey, Faithfuls! Yes, it's another spin studio blog post, and today it will be a R10T review! Located in the heart of the CBD, it's a walk away from Shenton Way MRT Station and Tanjong Pagar MRT Station. FYI, besides being a spin studio, it also houses two other fitness concepts: HYBR1D, their strength and cardio studio, and REV1VE, their yoga studio.

If you're a new rider, you can consider getting their 3 Class Trial Pack for just S$50, or their 5 Class Trial Pack for S$70. Plus, they're also on board with ClassPass, so you've got options!

However, first-timers may find it a little tricky to locate R10T. They're in the Tahir Building, not the Oxley Tower (people always mistake the studio for being here).

The studio offers free workout and shower towels, lockers equipped with number locks, and free water refill stations. The public areas are decked out in a sleek, minimalist vibe.

But one thing I can't stand is the female locker room. It's a bit of a squeeze fest in there, especially during peak hours, and the showers have no actual doors. Instead, you're covered by showered curtains, and the walls of the shower cubicle are REFLECTIVE, so people CAN see your naked bod if they wanted to.

I usually try to come just before class starts because the waiting area can get crowded up to 10 minutes before the doors open. Most people sit around on the benches outside, and this is where riders awkwardly sit around or check each other out. Otherwise, you can wait in the crowded locker room and have to keep shifting to let people walk past.

If you're a newbie, you can come at least 10 minutes earlier for a studio and safety briefing.

I enjoyed R10T classes so far. The instructors are very strong and skilled too. Daytime and afternoon classes tend to be quieter, perfect if you prefer a more intimate vibe. Evenings get a bit livelier, and it is more fun too.

The spin studio itself is very pretty, and one of the things I adore about it is the lighting setup. It boasts one of the most captivating lighting effects I've seen, apart from Ally's. There's also this fantastic cage of lights surrounding the instructor, creating an immersive and futuristic ambience that truly enhances the spin class experience.

While I thoroughly enjoy the classes at R10T and have become a frequent visitor, my main gripe revolves around the showers and locker room facilities. Despite this, I still highly recommend R10T to beginners and advanced riders alike!

Thanks for reading and see you next post!
