Hey, Faithfuls! Meeting up with my poly friends is always a great opportunity to discover more halal or Muslim-friendly spots, especially since one of my close friends is Muslim. This time, we decided to explore Haji Lane, and I introduced them to my all-time favourite halal spot: Brunch Club by The Halal Corner!

Despite having the word "brunch" in its name, this cafe is actually open for dinner, too! It’s located at 10 Jalan Pisang, just a short walk from Bugis MRT Station. What sets Brunch Club apart is its menu, which blends classic Western breakfast and brunch staples with a touch of local flair. From homemade fresh pasta to risotto and a small dessert selection, they’ve got a little something for everyone.

We kicked off our meal with their famous Truffle Fries (S$14), topped with grana padano. If you love crispy fries, these are perfect—hot, crispy, and served with a really nice garlic dip that adds an extra flavour punch.

For pasta lovers, the Cacio e Pepe (S$22) is a must-try. It’s an Italian classic, creamy, peppery, and super satisfying. The name literally translates to "cheese and pepper," and these two simple ingredients create a dish that's timeless yet full of flavour.

Another standout is the Sambal Balado Gigli (S$22), which features a spicy beef ragu infused with Indonesian spices. The sambal adds a punchy heat that’s perfect if you’re in the mood for something fiery.

For a more indulgent option, the Truffle Cream Pappardelle (S$28) hits all the right notes. With fresh black truffle and corn-fed chicken, the thin, smooth pappardelle is fragrant and creamy, making it a real treat.

We also tried the Fresh Truffle Omelette (S$18), which was light and tasty, though not as filling as I expected. The truffle was fragrant, but the dish felt more like a simple omelette with a truffle twist.

One of the stars of the meal was the Signature Crispy Chicken Burger (S$18), featuring a Danish bun, heirloom tomato, organic lettuce, and a sunny-side-up egg, all slathered with sriracha and cheddar cheese sauce. The croissant-like bun was filling, and the crispy chicken had just the right amount of spice, making my upper lip sweat a bit—always a good sign for spicy food fans!

To finish off, we went for the Frothy Teh Tarik (S$5.50), a well-loved local drink. I found the taste to be a little too milky and watered down, though. It lacked the stronger, earthy, and sweet flavours that a good teh tarik should have.

Brunch Club by The Halal Corner is a great spot to enjoy hearty halal dishes with a twist! Visit them the next time you're looking for halal food in Bugis. Thanks for reading, and see you next post.
