The World Of Studio Ghibli Singapore Review
Featuring 16 large-scale, interactive sets, the exhibition allows fans to step directly into the universe of beloved films like Princess Mononoke, Howl’s Moving Castle, and Kiki’s Delivery Service.
The exhibition begins with Howl's Moving Castle, showcasing an impressive moving model of Howl’s iconic castle. There's also a setup of Howl’s living room, which I took some time taking many pictures in.
From there, I was transported into the skies with Castle In The Sky, featuring life-size recreations of memorable scenes, including Pazu catching Sheeta as she falls from the sky. You can take over the part of Pazu and try to catch Sheeta as she's falling!
One of my personal faves is My Neighbour Totoro because of the peephole setup where you can catch the sleepy Totoro dozing off. You also get to snap photos with Totoro in the rain with a red umbrella.
Moving upstairs, the exhibition continues with Porco Rosso. Here, the aviation theme obviously takes centre stage through fighter jet models and a detailed recreation of Porco Rosso’s secluded island hideout.
Nostalgia hits hard in the Pom Poko area, where you can spin a wheel to watch the tanuki shapeshift in a retro-inspired setting, complete with an old-school TV.
I also really enjoyed the Princess Mononoke section, where it feels like you're stepping into a lush, green forest. The display brings Ashitaka and San to life, with projections adding a modern touch to the exhibit.
Next, you can explore Kiki’s Delivery Service, complete with a recreation of the movie's iconic bakery where Kiki and Jiji work.
The grand finale of the exhibition is dedicated to Spirited Away, and this was so well done I had chills. Here, I got to step into Yubaba’s bathhouse, explore her office, and even sit on the train alongside Chihiro and No-Face.
I loved that the iconic scene where No-Face devours everything in sight is featured. As a special nod to Singapore, the Japanese team even added a plate of chicken rice and laksa to the feast.
Finally, a retail store on level three is stocked with official merchandise, including a Singapore-exclusive Peranakan-inspired skirt—perfect for those wanting a keepsake from this magical adventure.
Tickets start at S$23.80 for Sands Lifestyle members on non-peak days and go up to S$49 for standard tickets on peak days.
