Fortuna Italian Restaurant Review: Free-Flow Pizza & Alcohol @ Tanjong Pagar
Hey, Faithfuls! I recently got invited to a media tasting for Fortuna Italian Restaurant, a popular Italian restaurant on Craig Road. Fortuna is a slice of Italy that blends the lively, familial atmosphere of a traditional trattoria with the refinement of a ristorante. It was established in Sydney in 2021 by three friends, including head chef Omar Tutino, a protégé of Michelin-starred chef Antonio Cannavacciuolo. The restaurant is celebrated for its authentic Italian flavours.
The interiors are warm and inviting, featuring wood and red accents that exude charm. They are particularly beautiful when bathed in soft evening light, which is when we headed down to try their wood-fired pizzas.
We were invited to try Fortuna's La Notte Infinita, their all-you-can-eat-and-drink event held every Friday and Saturday from 9:30pm. For S$80 per person, guests can enjoy 1.5 hours of unlimited pizza by the slice and free-flow signature pours, making it the perfect way to kick off your weekend before you head to da clubssss.
The pizza selection includes four classic flavours—Margherita, Alba, Diavola, and Parma—served at random to keep things exciting. You can also pair your pizza with free-flow Aperol Spritz, house wines, or house beers, which are included in the package.
I got to try their classic and comforting Margherita, and I really tasted the purity of its ingredients. The sweet, tangy Pomodoro base balances beautifully with the creamy, slightly stretchy fior di latte cheese. Fresh basil adds a bright, herbaceous note, cutting through the richness.
I LOVED the Alba pizza, as it was decadent but also earthy. It features a luxurious truffle cream base that mingles with the milky richness of fior di latte and burrata. The mix of Enokish mushrooms provides a variety of textures and deep umami flavours, while parmigiano adds a salty finish, tying it all together.
For a bold and spicy option, try the Diavola. It stars a Pomodoro base with creamy undertones of fior di latte. I didn't get to try this, but apparently, this pizza flavour is quite popular.
I also enjoyed the Parma pizza, which combines the slightly tangy San Marzano tomato base with silky stracciatella and the delicate saltiness of Prosciutto di Parma. The crushed pistachio on top added a nutty crunch, elevating the texture, while the fior di latte ties the ingredients together with its creaminess.
Bookings for La Notte Infinita are now open, so gather your friends and reserve your spot ASAP! The price point is quite high for sure, so you may want to reserve this for a special occasion or if you feel like splurging! Thanks for reading, and see you next post.
