Fenty Beauty Mini Makeup Sets Review: Bomb Baby Lip And Face Set, Lil Bronze Duo Mini Bronzer Set & More!
Fenty Beauty Mini Makeup Sets Review
I'm actually really, really excited about this blog post because I LOVE Fenty Beauty and have been using their makeup since they first launched. Regrettably (or maybe not?) I've been spending A LOT of money on makeup during the Circuit Breaker, and most of it consisted of Fenty Beauty Products.
Fenty Beauty can be a bit pricey, but the good thing is that they offer these limited edition mini makeup sets such as the Bomb Baby Lip And Face Set, Lil' Bronze Duo Mini Bronzer Set, and the Fly Baby Mini Eye Primer And Liner Set. These are really good for you to try out if you're unsure about buying the actual full-sized product.
I got my hands on ALL the Fenty Beauty mini makeup sets on Sephora, and I'll be reviewing them with you today - swatches and ugly selfies included!
1. Lil' Bronze Duo Mini Bronzer Set (Shady Biz/ Sinamon)
I don't really use bronzers, but I've been wanting to try them for awhile. The Lil' Bronze Duo Mini Bronzer Set ($36) was perfect because it gave me an opportunity to try out the mini products and the shades! The shades I got were Shady Biz and Sinamon, and actually I didn't have a choice with the shades because the others were all sold out.
The Lil' Bronze Duo Mini Bronzer Set came with x1 Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick (Sinamon) and x1 Sun Stalk'r Instant Warmth Bronzer (Shady Biz).
Obviously I was really excited to try out the Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick because it's Fenty Beauty's most popular product. When I first opened the Match Stix, I was honestly a little nervous because the shade looked quite dark, but after applying it on my hand, it was actually much more sheer than it looked.
I liked how the Match Stix was also very sturdy and pigmented, although there wasn't that much product.
On the other hand, the Sun Stalk'r Instant Warmth Bronzer was BAE and much lighter than the Match Stix. In the swatches above, you can compare the shades of the Match Stix (left) and the bronzer (right). The bronzer definitely suited my skin colour a lot better. It's also a lot more sheer than expected - which I don't mind because I don't like my makeup to look very heavy and obvious anyway.
2. Fly Baby Mini Eye Primer And Liner Set
Bruh eyeliners are so difficult to put on and I always have a hard time trying to make it look flawless. I have 2 main concerns when it comes to eyeliners. First, it has to be super easy to apply in a way that it glides smoothly along the eyelid; secondly it needs to LAST especially when I'm wearing it out under the hot sun for hours on end.
I didn't try the Fenty Beauty Flyliner ($36) on my own eye, but I did a little draw test on my arm and boyyyy was that baby smooooth. The tip of the eyeliner is also very sharp and thin which makes it easy to use and control. However, I think you'll really need to be careful when using the Fenty Beauty Flyliner because the eyeliner isn't that easy to remove and it's also very dark. If you make a mistake while drawing your cat eye, it's gonna take some effort to come off!
I also loved the formula of the Pro Filt'r Amplifying Eye Primer. It isn't too sticky and works well on sensitive skin. The texture is also smooth and hydrating, but it does feel a little tacky sometimes when you apply your eyeshadow. To avoid the tackiness, it's probably best to wait for the primer to fully dry before applying eye makeup.
3. Bomb Baby Mini Lip And Face Sets
Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Hu$la Baby & Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in Fenty Glow
This was actually the first Fenty Beauty makeup product I ever bought, and I love it to this day. Honestly I think it's already expired (oops), but it still works very well and I can't bear to part with it.
The Fenty Glow shade is my favourite Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb shade of ALL time, and it has a bit of a brick-reddish tint to it. It's super versatile and very, very glossy. It can be VERY sticky too, so remember to tie your hair up if you're using the glosses.
The Hu$tla Baby highlighter is also a very subtle shade and good for everyday use. It's also the most sheer out of the 3 shades I'll be talking about here.
This Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set retails at $38.
Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil in How Many Carats?! & Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in Fu$$y
Fu$$y is actually the most popular shade out of the 6 glosses, so I was really looking forward to this one.
My sister actually bought this set and I remember seeing her using it and was like WOW IT LOOKS SO PRETTY AND PINK. I was a bit reluctant to get it for myself because pink glosses don't really suit me, but this one was actually very nice. There's a whole girly feminine feel to this lip gloss which I adore, and I'll probably wear it out on a date instead of wearing it to lectures.
AND CAN WE TALK ABOUT THE DIAMOND BOMB. It's BEAUTIFUL. The shimmer. The shine. The glow!
I don't really know when I'll get to use this because it's so sparkly and I don't want to look like a fairy, but the Diamond Bomb All-Over Diamond Veil in How Many Carats was so mesmerising. The tone is slightly cool so it will stand out on warmer skin tones, and it has a light silver finish.
Fenty Beauty products are very versatile so you can probably use this on your body or eyes as well. It'll probably look really, really good in any way.
This Diamond Bomb Baby Mini Lip and Face Set retails at $39.
Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Sand Castle & Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in $weet Mouth
The Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer in $weet Mouth has a very similar shade to Fu$$y as it is also pinkish but a little more translucent. Generally my lips are already quite pink on their own, so the $weet Mouth gloss acted more like a topper by adding some extra shine to my lips. The shade was really similar to my natural lip colour and is great for those of you who fancy a no-makeup makeup look.
The Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter in Sand Castle has a very unique shade, and to put it simply it really DOES look like sand. There's a bit of a golden-greyish tone to it that's not really my cup of tea, but putting just a little bit doesn't hurt.
The Sand Castle highlighter actually surprised me because it's very pigmented and has good coverage. I just did one swatch and BAM it was enough to cover my entire cheek. If you're going for a dark, smoky makeup look, this will probably look good too!
This Bomb Baby 2.0 Mini Lip and Face Set retails at $38.
Fenty Beauty Mini Makeup Sets
In conclusion, I loved all the glosses and they smelled amazing. On the other hand, I do think they're a bit too sticky and take some time to dry, but I also love that the glosses were quite long-lasting. These glosses are indeed not just your regular drugstore lipgloss, and Rihanna means it when she says she takes the shimmer to the next level!
Fenty Beauty is available in Sephora physical stores and the Sephora website.
