Hey, Faithfuls! Welcome to another 'What It's Like' review! Today's topic is a little #TMI so be prepared for a lot of personal details because we're going to be talking about Brazilian waxes! If you're reading this post, it's probably because you're considering getting a Brazilian wax and are curious to know more about it - like if it's painful, how to prepare for it... and basically what it's like! I'll try my best to cover my experience to the best of my ability, so without further ado, let's dive into it.

My first waxing experience was actually the Brazilian wax, and I usually opted for the quick shave every once a week or so. Another hair removal method I've tried was SHR which is similar to IPL, but you'll need to go back for a few sessions every month to ensure permanent hair removal. Honestly, I don't really want to removal all my hair down there permanently, which is why I opted for the once-in-awhile Brazilian wax.

Prior to my first Brazilian wax experience, I Googled and researched the different waxing parlours in Singapore to find one that suited my budget. I wasn't willing to pay anything more than S$70, and I was worried about hard-selling and inexperienced beauticians. After looking through many reviews, I decided to give Pink Parlour a try, because the prices were within what I was willing to pay (S$62), and there were some decent reviews.

I booked an appointment through their website, which was really easy and fuss-free. I indicated that I wanted to pay cash on the day itself, although you can also pay in advance while booking. You can also indicate if you prefer a male or female beautician for your service. A day later, I was contacted via WhatsApp to confirm the appointment. I was pretty nervous the day of the appointment, so I texted Pink Parlour and asked if I needed to prepare anything. The nice lady I was talking to just told my to bring myself, and they would do everything else, so I was like, ok cool!

My first appointment was at Capitol Piazza because it was the only outlet that had the timing I wanted for that day. My subsequent appointments were done at Orchard Gateway because it's more convenient for me! But anyway, on my first appointment, I remember shyly approaching the counter and telling them I was here for my Brazilian. The staff at the counter was really sweet. She brought me to a small shower cubicle and said I could wash up, and then told me to undress in the room once I was done. For the Orchard Gateway outlet, there were no shower cubicles so you'd have to wipe down your girly parts using wet wipes.

It was a little awkward at first because I was standing in a small pink room, panties off, with a stranger, but the lady was really nice about it. I told her it was my first time, and she said it would be fast and quick - and she was right!

I was lying down the whole session, and she would apply wax on different parts of my vajayjay. Honestly, it was quite comfortable. Some parts definitely hurt more than others, especially the inner parts of the vagina, or the ones where skin is the thinnest. I did squeal and flinch a little, but the pain was really bearable. She said that my hair was quite easy to wax, and that it's highly recommended to grow out your hair before a Brazilian because longer hair is easier to wax off.

You can also choose to have different 'shapes', and when I mean shapes, I mean having your vagina hair shaved or trimmed into a strip, a triangle, or even a heart. I really had no idea what to do with all these options, so I chose to just have everything gone!

This waxing part went on for about 10 minutes, and towards the end, she asked me if I also wanted to wax my butt crack. I wasn't expecting it so I was a little taken aback, but she was like, "Might as well just get everything done, right?" so I shyly agreed. Thankfully, it was done very quickly!

In my opinion, the most painful part of the Brazilian wax process was not the actual waxing, but the tweezing at the end. Some hairs, especially ingrown hairs, can be difficult to wax off, so the beautician had to use a tweezer to pluck them out. My lord, I hated this part, but it took just a minute or two. I remember squeezing my fist so hard.

Once everything was done, she put some powder on me which eased the stinging feeling. Then, I was done! She also told me some aftercare tips such as avoiding hot showers and sex for at least a day. Then I paid, thanked her, and went on my merry way!

Honestly, I hardly think of shaving anymore ever since going Brazilian. If my hair is still short, I don't mind a quick shave, but if there's a lot, I'd rather get it removed by a professional. You can feel some stubble a week after the shave, and hair usually starts showing quite obviously within the second week. Personally, I like to go get a Brazilian wax every once in three months. Also, it's worth mentioning that although my experience with Pink Parlour has mostly been positive, the level of pain for the waxing depends on how good your beautician is. I've had some less-experienced beauticians which made the process less comfortable, so you'll just have to figure out who you're used to so you can request to have them again during your next visit.

So there you have it - my Brazilian wax experience! I obviously like the results because I'm already planning my next visit. Things are just cleaner down there and aesthetically, my vag looks great. I hope this review eases your mind and answers some of your questions about getting a Brazilian wax, and if you have more questions, feel free to ask away in the comments.

That's all for today's What It's Like review; thanks for reading and see you next post!
