oaks-coffee-co-review

Hey, Faithfuls! So I live in Upper Thomson, which is basically cafe haven. While many cafes come and go, there's one really popular one, and they've been here for quite some time now, so I thought it would be good to review it. Oaks Coffee Co. is always crowded, and there's often a long queue, especially on weekends. On one of my days off, I decided to pay Oaks Coffee Co. a visit with my boyfriend, and we headed down a little before the lunch hour.

The cafe is quite compact. You can sit at the counter, or go up the stairs where more tables are available. It was a beautiful sunny day, so I opted to sit at the counter, where the natural sunlight was streaming through.

I got myself the Truffle Mushroom (S$19), consisting of spaghetti, wild mushrooms, black garlic, kombu, and Parmigiano Reggiano. This is also a vegan dish. I quite liked this dish! It was cheesy with just the right amount of truffle. The portion was decent as well, and I started feeling full 80% into the dish.

My boyfriend was compelled to order the Laksa Orzo (S$21). This was a very interesting dish, which was packed with tiger prawns, clams, and house-made coconut ice cream! It was also topped with laksa leaves, salmon roe, and tau pok.

I wasn't expecting this to have a lot of flavours, but it did. The laksa flavour was very prominent, and the texture was creamy. The sauce was also very addictive.

I washed everything down with the Iced Genmaicha (S$7). The genmaicha had an earthy flavour, and the drink was creamy and milky. The caffeine here hit me quite quickly, and I even found myself feeling a little anxious after that because my heart was beating so rapidly.

My boyfriend finished his meal with Creamy White (S$7), which is basically a latte. The latte was easy to drink and also had a silky texture. I wouldn't say it was the strongest coffee I had, but it was refreshing and definitely woke him up from his impending food coma.

I was quite impressed by the food at Oaks Coffee Co. and was happy that I could finally try the food here. Both of our dishes were great, and I can still taste the delicious genmaicha, even as I write this now. The food is definitely worth going back for.

Thanks for reading, and see you next post!
