Hey, Faithfuls! OMG so excited for my very first 2024 cafe reviews~ I have been seeing this cafe called Home Dawn on Instagram recently, and was told that they are having a 1-for-1 promotion till 29 February! Home Dawn is a cosy cafe nestled in the heart of Clarke Quay. They also transform into a bar with live music at night!

Upon stepping into Home Dawn, I was greeted by a modern ambience that felt both welcoming and work-friendly. They have multiple charging ports too! Situated conveniently overlooking the Singapore River, this two-storey cafe boasts ample natural sunlight, which makes for the perfect photo-taking spot.

The place was abuzz with patrons when I was there with my cousins. However, it seemed like they were a tad understaffed. I witnessed folks having to flag down servers to place their orders—a testament to the cafe's popularity, perhaps, but also a minor hiccup in an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Before I start talking about the food, I should mention that Home Dawn's special promo requires you to make a reservation and follow them on social media!

The menu is quite substantial and you can get toast, pasta, and coffee. I had the Homie's Brekkie (S$25), featuring an ensemble of sourdough toast, bacon, bockwurst, tomato, avocado, tater tots, and poached eggs. While the dish was a feast for the eyes, the poached eggs fell short of expectations—dry as a bone, to be precise. Thankfully, my sister's plate fared better in the egg department. My other cousin had scrambled eggs, and they were bussin'.

Meanwhile, my cousin savoured the Smoked Salmon Benedict (S$23)—an English muffin delight topped with poached eggs, smoked salmon, wilted spinach, and a generous serving of avocado. From what I gathered, it was a hit! The smoked salmon boasted a rich flavour without the overpowering fishiness. Her eggs were super runny too.

For drinks, I treated myself to an Iced Mocha (S$7.50), which was a delightful concoction that struck the perfect balance between sweetness and bitterness. It was like sipping on a chilly hug with a hint of bitter dark chocolate.

Home Dawn won me over with their affordable food, but the dishes might be a hit or miss. I'll come over again for their coffee and perhaps consider working from home here too!

That's all for today, see you next post~
