Hey there, Faithfuls! I'm trying to visit as many cafes as I can this year, and my most recent culinary escapade was at Early Bird, which is one of the OG cafes in Bugis. They've actually been around for a while so I don't know why I waited so long to try their food.

Early Bird boasts a spacious layout, and the interior is pretty cosy. As I glanced around, I noticed a delightful mix of window seats, tables for large groups, and even a few outdoor spots basking in the sun—perfect for soaking in the vibrant Bugis atmosphere, or for people-watching.

Early Bird exudes a laid-back charm, making it the ideal spot to kick back, relax, and even catch up on some work—courtesy of the free WiFi. Pro tip: for a quieter ambience, swing by after 3pm and soak in the tranquil surroundings.

Forget flipping through laminated menus here; at Early Bird, you simply scan a QR code to access their menu. Payments are settled at the counter. I opted for their Chicken & Pancakes (S$19), a hearty ensemble featuring generous chunks of fried chicken atop fluffy pancakes. While the pancakes lacked the cloud-like fluffiness I had hoped for, the crispy chicken provided a delightful contrast. However, a word to the wise: devour it fresh to savour that perfect crunch!

Meanwhile, my dining companion savoured a creamy truffle mushroom pasta (apologies as I can't remember the exact dish name!). From what I gathered, the creaminess was on point—rich and indulgent, with portions large enough to satisfy even my friend's hearty appetite.

For drinks, I indulged in a soothing cup of Chamomile Tea (S$5). It was nothing special TBH, and I felt like I could make this cup of tea at home, but at least I could enjoy the free refills!

I was actually surprised by how affordable the food at Early Bird was. You can find most mains to be priced below S$25, and the portions are generous! Most importantly, I enjoyed the vibes here. My friend and I stayed here chatting for almost four hours! The staff were friendly too and made us feel at home. I would definitely be coming back to try their other dishes.

Thanks for reading and see you next post!
