Hey, Faithfuls! I love pasta, and most of the time I end up giving into my cravings and over-splurging on pasta because this dish is so freaking expensive in Singapore! If you're craving a hearty bowl of pasta but don’t want to burn a hole in your wallet, Tangled Pasta might just be your new go-to, because it SURE is mine. With multiple outlets around Singapore, including Chinatown Point, Bugis Junction, and Republic Plaza, Tangled has made quite a name by offering affordable, freshly made pasta—complete with unique local twists. I visited the outlet at Marina One, and I left pretty impressed.

Ordering here is super fuss-free. You order directly from the takeaway screens, make payment, and then either grab your food to go or dine in. The casual space is great for a quick lunch break or a fuss-free dinner.

While you can build your own pasta (choose from five sauces, eight pasta types, 17 add-ons, and six proteins), I usually just go for their ready-made combinations—because honestly, they’ve done a great job with them.

I usually go for their Truffle Shuffle Shrooms (S$12.90). It features mushroom pappardelle, sautéed mushrooms, a poached egg, and a luxuriously creamy truffle sauce. Rich and aromatic without overpowering, the truffle oil was definitely not rationed. The mushrooms added a natural sweetness and some lovely umami notes that made the whole dish super moreish.

Then I decided to try something new: the Mala Mayhem (S$12.90). This was a chilled pasta dish with mushrooms and crispy fried beans tossed in a spicy mala sauce. At first, I was unsure about eating pasta cold, but it actually worked—kind of like a cold pasta salad, but with kick. The spice level was a manageable “xiao la”, but I still ended up sweating a little above the eyebrows (mala fans, you know the feeling). I loved the fried beans, which added this addictive crunch that contrasted nicely with the chewy pasta.

If you’re looking for a pasta spot that’s wallet-friendly, tasty, and not your usual Italian fare, Tangled is a solid choice. The portions aren’t massive, but they’re decent—especially for the price. And honestly? I’d say it tastes just as good as some of the more premium pasta joints out there, but without the higher price tag.

Thanks for reading, and see you next post!
