Daily Review: Asian-Inspired Pastas & Pizzas @ Lentor Modern Mall
After walking around the mall feeling increasingly hungry and disappointed, we realised there was only one other cafe worth checking out at that hour, which was Daily. It actually ended up being a pretty solid backup plan.
At Daily, their menu pulls influences from China, South Korea, France, and Italy, resulting in dishes that feel both familiar and slightly inventive. The cafe focuses on Asian-inspired pastas and grilled-meat rice bowls, alongside crowd-pleasers like pizzas, sandwiches, and other all-day cafe staples. It’s the kind of place that works well whether you’re dropping by for a casual lunch, a coffee break, or just somewhere comfortable to hang out.
The interior is quite quaint. It's kind of like an European cafe vibes with subtle Asian touches. There’s a mix of seating options too. Larger communal tables make it great for groups, while smaller tables around the space are better suited for couples or friends catching up.
For sharing, we ordered the Black Truffle and Poached Egg Pizza (S$22), which felt like a pretty safe but indulgent choice. The pizza came with a white, cheesy base layered with aromatic truffle, topped with a poached egg that added extra creaminess once broken into. The flavours were rich and comforting without feeling overly heavy, and the truffle aroma really carried the dish. Out of everything we tried, this was definitely the standout.
We also ordered a truffle cream pasta to share. The flavour was pleasant and creamy, but the pasta wasn’t quite as al dente as I would’ve liked. It also leaned a bit on the jelak side after a few bites, though sharing it made it manageable. It wasn’t bad by any means, just not particularly memorable. The pizza definitely stole the spotlight here.
Daily also has some interesting drinks on the menu, including pistachio lattes and coconut lattes, alongside standard coffee options. If you’re someone who enjoys trying slightly more unique cafe drinks, there are a few fun options to explore.
Daily ended up being a pleasant surprise after our initial cafe-hopping plans failed. The food was decent, the space was comfortable, and it’s honestly a good option when you’re at Lentor Modern and need somewhere casual to sit down and eat.
