Hey, Faithfuls! Every NPC Singaporean and their mother is in Japan right now, except me. Being salty that I couldn't travel, I headed straight for the heart of Dempsey, where Nowhere Baths is located. It's a contemporary bathhouse designed to revive the ancient, communal pleasure of bathing, and it's a wonder that I've never heard of this place prior to this????

Nowhere Baths places a strong emphasis on inclusivity. The space is gender-neutral, swimwear is required in shared areas, and it’s fully wheelchair accessible with step-free entry and accessible bathrooms. Mondays are women-only, and there are designated quiet hours (Wednesday evenings, if I’m not mistaken) for those who prefer a more tranquil soak.

I first visited during a soft-launch Saturday evening, where a two-hour pass was priced at S$55 (morning sessions are cheaper I think). This time, I went on a Monday early afternoon.

Yes, phones aren’t allowed inside. I know. I technically broke the rule, but I was completely alone when I entered, so I quickly snapped a few photos before putting my phone away. Once others started arriving, my phone stayed locked up for the remaining 1.5 hours. The no-phone policy actually makes sense; it helps preserve privacy and keeps the space calm and intentional.

At the entrance, you’re given a little map of the bathhouse and a brief introduction to how everything works.

You’re then shown to the locker room and handed the cutest waterproof rubber bag to carry your towel and essentials around. It’s such a small detail, but it made the experience feel thoughtful and aesthetic!

Before entering the baths, you’re required to shower, which I appreciate because apparently some Singaporeans don't shower before leaving the house in the morning. This rule keeps everything hygienic and respectful for everyone sharing the space.

The entire space is beautifully designed with minimal, clean, earthy tones. Even the toilets (including a handicap-accessible one) maintain the same aesthetic standard.

One inside the main area, the bathhouse opens up into a series of carefully designed areas for rest and recovery. Large windows frame lush greenery outside, giving the space a calm, almost retreat-like atmosphere. The patio view makes you forget you’re still in Singapore. There is a clock inside, though, to snap you back into reality.

There are two hot pools: one infused with Epsom salt for muscle relaxation, and another featuring calming nanobubbles that feel silky against the skin The heat melts into your muscles slowly. You can genuinely feel your body unwinding.

There’s also a dry sauna with steady, enveloping heat, and a steam room that feels wet and more humid.

My fave was honestly the cold plunge pool, which was SO INTENSE, given that this was my first time trying it.

Another very dramatic feature was the ceiling-mounted water buckets. You pull a rope and a cascade of cold water splashes over you. It’s almost shocking for the body, but I kinda liked it.

There are refreshment stations around the bathhouse to ensure you stay hydrated. After sweating it out in the sauna or steam room, being able to grab water easily makes a huge difference. It’s these little functional details that show they’ve really thought through the guest experience!

It was seriously a lovely way to spend two hours. It genuinely passed in an instant. Even as someone who went alone, it didn’t feel awkward at all! But I feel it may be more awkward coming as a female alone, especially on days open to both genders, ESPECIALLY if you're gonna be the solo amongst the couples who are probably gonna be canoodling the whole way. If you're a gal, just come on Mondays.

I would definitely come back. Whether you’re looking to relax, recover after a workout, or just try something different from the usual cafe hopping, Nowhere Baths is a refreshing experience that feels like a mini escape within Singapore.

Thanks for reading, and see you next post!
