The Secret Patio @ Duxton Hill: Indoor Garden Picnic Food Review
Hey friends!! I just came back from brunch with a friend at this super pretty place called The Secret Patio. From what I understand, it's not exactly a cafe per se and is more of an events space for people to hold weddings or birthdays, but they recently held a pop-up cafe so I immediately brought a girlfriend down to try it out. If you're wondering why I was so excited, it's because The Secret Patio's pop-up cafe has a gorgeous indoor picnic concept and if you post a picture of yourself in garden-themed attire on your socials and tag them, you get free macarons as well.

The entry fee is apparently S$28/person and comes with S$10 dining credits. We had to make a reservation beforehand, and it literally took a day before all the slots were booked. We also had to make a S$10 deposit to confirm the booking.

The Secret Patio is located at 10A Duxton Hill along a row of shophouses on the second level. The area with the picnic mats and all were confined to the space beside the windows, and the rest of the area was filled with normal tables and chairs. But I have to say even the 'normal' seating area was very pretty - the chairs were transparent and there were flowers everywhere. The flowers were very, very fragrant too and the lovely aroma filled the whole cafe!

Unfortunately, we didn't get to sit at the place with the picnic mats, but the staff were nice enough to let us take pictures there! Here are some of the lovely pictures we took.

I got the I've Got Sunshine (S$24) which was an eggs benedict - it had English muffins with poached eggs, smoked salmon, rich hollandaise, salad, and edible flowers. It was a simple dish but tasted great! Even the salad was tasty, and the smoked salmon had a very subtle smokey flavour.

We also ordered the Blueberry On Clouds (S$24) with seasonal blueberries, organic maple, double cream, and edible flowers on top of ricotta pancakes. I did not have high expectations for the pancakes, but it was quite good. The pancakes were not too floury and were fluffy enough. It wasn't too sweet by itself, and since I was craving sweet flavours I just dipped it in more maple syrup and cream.

For drinks, I ordered a simple Latte (S$8) which came in a small glass, but the latte was good and surprisingly, quite filling! It was a good iced coffee for people who don't really drink coffee because the flavours were rather muted and I would have loved it to be a hint stronger.

Unfortunately, we only had 90 minutes to dine and had to leave by 1pm for the next batch of diners to come in. It was quite a short experience and not the best place to catch up with friends especially if you haven't seen them in a while (because usually, you'll need more time to talk!), but we both still enjoyed ourselves a lot.

The Secret Patio's pop-up cafe is only on until 12 September 2021 so while not all of us will be able to experience it, you can consider booking this place to celebrate a special occasion. If not, you can follow them on their socials and stay tuned for any other upcoming pop-up events!
