Hey, Faithfuls! I love bagels, but most of the bagel places I know tend to be quite pricy. Was happy to find out that Pawa Bakery recently opened a kisok at Plaza Singapura so I can enjoy their affordable bagels on the go!

This bakery keeps things simple and wallet-friendly, with most items priced under $4. Their Original Bagel, made with Japanese bread flour, is a steal at just S$2.50. And if you’re visiting during the opening period, there’s a opening promo where your second bagel is only S$0.99—a perfect excuse to grab an extra.

I tried a few of their popular flavours, including the Garlic Cheese Bagel (S$3.80). This one had a rich and creamy filling, but I found it a little on the sweet side. I wish it leaned more savoury with a punchier garlic flavour and less dominant cream cheese. That said, the bagel’s texture—thanks to the Japanese bread flour—was spot-on.

If you’re into sweeter bagels, the Oreo Cheese Bagel (S$3.80) might be for you. The Oreo crumbs are there, but they don’t shine as much as I’d hoped, with the cream cheese again taking centre stage. Like the Garlic Cheese Bagel, I feel it could benefit from more balance between sweet and savoury.

The Taro Mochi Bagel (S$3.80) surprisingly won me over! Packed with a generous amount of freshly made orh nee paste and a gooey, stretchy mochi centre, it’s perfect for yam lovers. The chewy texture of the bagel paired with the sweet, earthy taro filling was pretty satisfying.

Pawa Bakery doesn’t just do bagels—they also sell their Casarine Toast (S$5.30), a thick slice of pillowy Hokkaido milk bread. Made with premium Japanese flour, cream cheese, and Casasrine milk, it’s impossibly soft and fluffy. This versatile toast can be turned into French toast, bread pudding, or simply enjoyed on its own!

If you’re in the area, pop by their new outlet at Plaza Singapura and grab a bagel or two! Thanks for reading, and see you next post!
