Hey, Faithfuls! Today's post will be a fun one because it's about the Dino Carnival - a Christmas 'market' as part of Changi Festive Village 2021. Honestly, it seems as though this is marketed towards kids, but the main reason why I dragged myself and my friends down to Changi Airport for this was because I wanted to try out the Dino-Kart 2.0!

The Changi Festive Village 2021 is located at Terminal 4. While it is stated on the airport's website that the free shuttle bus does not go to Terminal 4, this does not seem to be the case as we managed to board it to the carnival.

We booked our tickets for the Dino-Kart 2.0 online via the iChangi app, so we could head straight to the registration counter instead of joining the long ticketing queue like most people. The tickets for the Dino-Kart 2.0 was S$25/person and it offered us free entry to the carnival, which would usually be S$/person just to enter.

The first thing I saw when I entered the carnival was the games. There were lots of carnival games with eager children and parents trying their luck to win cute dinosaur plushies. My boyfriend was really tempted to try some of the games, especially those that were suitable for adults, but once he saw that you had to pay S$5/game, he immediately changed his mind! In fact, you won't just be paying S$5 because you have to buy at least S$10 or S$40 worth of Dino Carnival Credits. But TBH the plushies are damn cute and I wished I had a chance to win some of them!

Another popular spot was the Dino Dig which was some kind of treasure hunt for kids to channel their inner Ross Geller. This one was obviously for toddlers and young children but the ball pit made me want to jump in as well. Tickets for this are S$8/person.

There was also Ice Fishing, where you can try your luck and get a good catch at S$6/person. In the spirit of all things carnival, there was also a bouncy castle called Dino Bounce with tickets at S$8/person. They say this one is for adults too, but let's face it, there were mostly kids here!

On our way to the Dino-Kart, we always walked past a few retail stalls selling trinkets and merchandise.

Our slot for the Dino-Kart was at 3.15pm, and we were told to come on the dot to register - not earlier, not later. Once we were registered, the staff ushered us to a safety briefing where we were briefed about the rules and the race track. After that, we placed our bags in a locket and put on our hairnets and helmets.

As we were all above 13 years old, we were allowed to go for the Pro Circuit with go-karts that went up to 24km/hr. If you were below 13 years old, you would have to go for the shorter Novice Circuit with a maximum speed of 18km/hr. Every round had about eight people on the track.

We were allowed one practice round, after which the actual 'race' commenced. It was a very fun experience and 24km/hr felt surprisingly fast. It was almost a little scary at certain parts of the track where the turns were a bit narrower.

We went for about four turns until the checkered flag signalled that it was our final lap. I came in third last (LOL) but it didn't matter anyway because I had a whole lot of fun! From the time we registered until we left the track, it took about 35 minutes in total.

I really enjoyed the Dino-Kart and it was really fun racing around with my group of friends. Of course, there are a lot of other go-karting companies with cooler tracks and go-karts that go much faster, but I think for S$25, you pay a very affordable price for a 30-minute drive. Plus, this one is indoors so you get the fun minus the hot sun!
