Hey, Faithfuls! You know I'm a fan of staycations, but sometimes I can't afford a full-on staycation because I'm always broke. I've been introduced to the concept of a daycation recently, and there are a few apps out there that allow you to book hotel rooms on an hourly basis. I decided to treat myself to a nice daycation by myself at a 5-star hotel, Intercontinental Singapore.

I made the booking using an app called Flow. I got the Deluxe Double room for S$251.79 for eight hours, from 9am to 6pm.

During check-in, I just had to head to the counter with my booking number, and they led me up to my room. It was easy peasy!

My room exuded a residential charm with plush bedding and bespoke furnishings. This inviting light-filled sanctuary features a harmonious color palette with silk wall coverings and timeless interior decor incorporating elements from Singapore's Peranakan culture.

The room was also very spacious and overlooked the Bugis Junction walking street, so I could people-watch when I was bored. I absolutely loved my bed! It was firm yet comfortable, and I could even choose my type of pillow. I'm not that fussy, so I didn't bother.

There's an office desk in one corner of the room, too, along with two sofas to lounge on as you take a break from work. There are also many charging ports, so I could charge my two phones, camera, and laptop.

There's also a coffee machine, perched on top of this gorgeous antique-looking cupboard. This is not your regular Nespresso machine, no. It's another brand I've never heard of, but it looks atas. I tried the coffee, and they're great! There's creamer in the mini-fridge too, which I used to make two cups of coffee with.

When I first entered the room, I noticed the huge wardrobe on the right side. Inside, it has everything you need for a cosy stay, including a safe for valuables, an iron and ironing board, laundry pouches, hotel slippers, and bathrobes.

And can I say, the bathroom is gorgeous! It has marble furnishings, a rain shower, and a bathtub. I never knew I could be so excited each time I had to go pee.

In-room dining is also available if you'd like, but I didn't bother since it was a short stay. I love Intercontinental Singapore's high tea, though, and may consider trying it next time I stay here.

My room was on the fifth floor, and the gym and pool were located on the fourth floor. The gym is state-of-the-art and clean, but it was rather empty when I visited. There are many treadmills, so you don't need to fight with other guests to use one.

The swimming pool isn't the biggest, and the view from the pool is pretty meh. There is a bar beside the pool serving cocktails and beer, so you can come here for tipples if you'd like. I didn't use the pool as the weather was crazy hot, but I may come back here for a good tan when the weather isn't so bad.

I had a really rejuvenating time at Intercontinental Singapore, and honestly, I love how I can whisk myself away to a nice hotel to treat myself. If you're looking for a quick getaway or want to WFH in style, you can consider checking out Flow to book your next daycation!
