Hey, Faithfuls! 🌸 You know how much I love exploring new cafes, and I’m super excited to share my latest find with you all—June Coffee. Owned by the same folks behind September Coffee, they seem to be the newest Instagrammable spot on the block. While September Coffee exudes modernity with its concrete furnishings and Scandi vibes, June Coffee takes on a slightly different charm, but somehow you just know they're from the same founders. Also, interestingly, June Coffee opened in June 2024, while September Coffee opened in September 2022!

I decided to check out June Coffee on a Saturday afternoon. Despite being so new that not many publications had written about it yet, we arrived to find a bustling scene with a long queue already forming. Clearly, we weren’t the only early adopters.

The takeaway stand at June Coffee is a hotspot for photos, with many food influencers snapping pics of their stylish takeaway cups. We grabbed our queue number and expected a long wait, but to our surprise, we snagged a table in the alfresco area within just 10 minutes. It seems we lucked out because we were just a party of two.

After placing our order via a QR code, I took a little tour of the cafe's interior. It’s much dimmer and cosier inside, with a slightly vintage ambience due to the dark teak wood furnishings and warm, dim lights.

June Coffee’s menu features hearty Italian dishes with a Korean twist. The Rose Rigatoni (S$20) is June Coffee’s unique take on gochujang pasta, and the Truffle Mushroom Pappardelle (S$21) is great for those who love creamy pasta.

For drinks, we had the Iced Matcha Latte (S$7) and Iced Oat White Coffee (S$7).

The matcha latte was on the grassy side, and while the oat white coffee was rich and milky, the portions were a bit small.

June Coffee also boasts a great selection of specialty drinks. There's the Iced Pistachio Latte (S$9++), Iced Kinako Matcha (S$8++), and Black Sesame Latte (S$8++), which is also available at September Coffee!

I’ve heard mixed reviews about June Coffee. Personally, I found the food to be decent, though a bit on the pricey side. As for the coffee, their standard brews didn’t wow me, but their specialty drinks have a good reputation. If you’ve been to September Coffee, you’ll know that their specialty drinks are worth a try, and I expect June Coffee to follow suit.

The vibes at June Coffee are fantastic, and I wouldn’t mind coming back again. Sure, the prices are a little steep, but that’s pretty standard for cafes in the Katong area. Here’s hoping June Coffee sticks around for a while because I’d love to revisit it when (or if) the initial hype dies down.

Thanks for reading, and see you next post!
