Hey, Faithfuls! I’m often in Paya Lebar, either to visit my partner who works there or to hit up my BFT studio. So when I heard about this new cafe, Hideout Coffee Bar, I had to check it out. Now, I find myself dropping by whenever I can!

The cafe entrance is tucked away in a back alley, which adds to its hidden gem vibe. Outside, you’ll find camping chairs and a few outdoor seats, perfect for sipping your coffee al fresco. Inside, it’s cosy and compact, with bar seats where you can chat with the friendly baristas and enjoy the air conditioning.

They offer a lean but tasty sandwich menu, with options like PBJ (S$10), Tuna Melts (S$13), Cold Cuts (S$17), Meatballs (S$16), and Brisket (S$17).

When it comes to drinks, the coffee selection includes Black (S$5.50), White (S$6.50), and something a bit different—Espresso Ale (S$7.50). I usually go for their iced White, and sometimes I top up for oat milk. It’s on the sweeter side, mellow, and velvety with no strong acidic tones—super easy to drink!

If you're a tea lover like me, I highly recommend their Matcha (S$7) and Genmaicha (S$7). Both drinks are smooth and a bit milkier than most places, though I do wish it had that signature bitterness tea is known for. Still, it’s one of my go-to drinks.

I usually swing by Hideout Coffee Bar early in the morning around 8am, or just before the lunch rush at 1pm—both times are ideal if you want to grab a seat before it fills up. Now my best-kept secret in the East is out!
