PhotoNow Review: Korean Makeup & Self-Photo Studio
Hey, Faithfuls! Recently, I treated myself to a solo photoshoot at PhotoNow, and it was such a fun experience! The studio, located in The Centrepoint at Orchard Road, offers a range of makeup and photography packages to help you capture the perfect shot. As someone who loves documenting moments without feeling judged, I really enjoyed the experience at this self-photo studio.
This time, I opted for their Studio Photoshoot Makeup package, which costs S$300. It includes Korean natural makeup, complete with contouring, agyeo sal (those cute puffy under-eyes), Korean blush, and gradient lips. Plus, they threw in eyebrow trimming, natural Korean-style false lashes, and a dreamy updo!
The whole makeup process took about 30 minutes, and I have to say, I was impressed with the skills. My skin looked flawless, thanks to high-end brands like Chanel, Dior, and some Korean favourites. However, the look was a bit heavier than I expected—I looked a little pale, and the blush was quite intense. Blush blindness was real for me, but to be fair, it all looked fantastic in the photos!
PhotoNow also offers more affordable options like the Natural Korean Makeup package for S$200, which is perfect if you’re going for a more casual, everyday look. For those wanting something more glamorous, the Gala Dinner Makeup package is S$380, and their most expensive option is the Korean Bridal Makeup at S$480.
The studio itself is divided into five rooms, each with different backdrops. I chose a white backdrop and shot in Studio 5, which was a small cosy room perfect for one. If you're planning something grander, like a bridal or maternity shoot, the Deluxe Room is spacious and beautifully set up.
They also have a variety of props like fun sunglasses, headbands, potted plants, and benches, letting you style your shoot however you want.
The photoshoot itself lasted 15 minutes, which may sound short, but for a solo shoot, it was enough time since I already had my poses planned out. After the session, I chose my favourite photos on the laptop outside. I took my time to decide and then told the staff my picks. I even topped up an additional S$30 to get all the digital copies. The prints were done in about 10 minutes, and I received the digital files within just 5 minutes!
Overall, it was such a smooth and enjoyable experience, from the makeup to the shoot and even the photo selection process. I do think my pictures look a lot better this time because I got my makeup professionally done.
If you’re looking for a fuss-free way to treat yourself or capture a special moment, PhotoNow is definitely a self-photo studio in Singapore worth checking out. Thanks for reading, and see you next post!
