Ice Edge Cafe is located just less than a 5-minute walk from Kovan MRT. Scrolling through their Facebook page, I realised that Ice Edge Cafe was the perfect place to go to because they served mains, coffee, ice cream, and dessert all in one place.

While we were there, there was also a dine-in promotion happening for weekday lunches from 11.30am-4pm. The promotion entitled you to a 1-for-1 within certain food categories such as pasta, pizza, and mains. The highest-priced will be charged and the lowest price will be waived.

Seeing as there was a promo, my friend and I immediately looked for the pricier items on the menu, which were the mains. I got myself the Chicken W Mushroom Cream Sauce (S$15.80), which included a baked boneless chicken thigh with mushroom cream sauce. We could also choose two sides, and I got mashed potato with spicy cold fusilli pasta. The chicken actually tasted quite good and was rather tender. It was also drenched in a lot of sauce so even if the meat got a little dry when it turned cold, I just had to dip it in the gravy.

My friend got Jacob's Black Pepper Beef Stew (S$19.80) with Australian beef shin and homemade brown sauce. For sides, he got the fusilli as well, and a Japanese onsen egg. I liked how the taste of the pepper was quite strong, but the beef was quite tough. The portion was not as big as mine although this dish was more expensive.

Our stomachs still had some space, so we got the Ultimate Lava Cake (S$14.80) which came with a scoop of gelato. Ice Edge Cafe serves some pretty decent ice cream and we loved the cookies & cream flavour. The chocolate lava was to die for and I couldn't get enough of it!

I may not visit Kovan very often, but I'm glad that I now know where I can go to have lunch or dessert. The food here is decent and with the 1-for-1 promo, absolutely worth it. It's also not very crowded so you can literally sit there and chill for hours. So if you find yourself in Kovan and just want to go somewhere near the MRT for lunch, Ice Edge Cafe would be a good option.
